Graeme Park at Bomba Exeter
Saturday 17th May - 7pm
Graeme Park’s journey as a DJ mirrors the evolution of dance music and club culture. He began in the early 1980s working at Selectadisc in Nottingham, where he was introduced to emerging house music from Chicago, Detroit, and New York. His passion for this new sound quickly earned him a residency at the iconic Haçienda in Manchester during the Summer of Love in 1988. Park became a pivotal figure in the global dance scene, touring internationally and remixing tracks for artists like Inner City, New Order, and Sophie Ellis-Bextor. With a career spanning over four decades, he continues to play for die-hard fans and new clubbers alike, mixing classic and contemporary tunes.
Beyond his DJ sets, Graeme has been instrumental in the acclaimed Haçienda Classical shows, performing alongside orchestras to reimagine club classics for audiences at Glastonbury, the Royal Albert Hall, and more. His weekly radio show “The Long Live House Radio Show” airs globally, and his work during the COVID-19 pandemic, including virtual Haçienda House Party events, demonstrated his enduring creativity. Graeme has also ventured into music documentaries and label production while earning accolades like the Scottish Music Innovation Award. As he celebrates 40 years as a DJ, his passion for sharing great music remains undiminished, a testament to his lasting impact on the dance music world.
