A Date With Death
The year is 1965. Lady Penelope Forrester, Lady Camilla Hamilton, Giles Hamilton and Gabriella Giotto are all at the Sandringham Club in the New Place Hotel waiting for Sir Peter Forrester to arrive before Giles can pop the question to Gabriella, the love of his life.
Sir Peter was coming home from Brussels where he had been negotiating a trade deal. He had parked over the road close to the venue ready to join the party. The group are all discussing whether they are going to be skiing to St Moritz or warmer climes to the South of France for the sun or Gabriella’s choice of Cortina in the Italian Dolomites. Just idle chit chat. A few references as to where Peter is, and unreliable transport will have made him late. Will this evening go to plan?
