Royal Albert Dock, Liverpool, Merseyside, L3 4AQ
Located in the historic Royal Albert Dock, which originally opened in 1845, Maritime Museum tells the story of one of the world’s greatest ports.
It’s home to a variety of ship models, maritime paintings, colourful posters from the golden age of liners, and even some fullsized vessels. The Grade I listed Museum, which has HMS Conway’s anchor at its entrance, also tells the story of Liverpool’s links to the ill-fated liner, Titanic.
Maritime Museum offers a number of memorable spaces for both daytime conferences and evening events, including a spacious 200-seat lecture theatre with integrated audiovisual technology.
There’s also a dedicated events suite located on the fourth floor of the Museum, with unrivalled views of Liverpool Waterfront and Royal Albert Dock. The fourth floor spaces are incredibly versatile, transformed from when they once stored valuable cargo, such as brandy, tea and cotton more than 100 years ago. Additionally, outdoor events can be hosted on our iconic waterside Colonnades.
The building also houses the International Slavery Museum and Seized! gallery, the latter being a partnership between NML, the Border Force and HM Revenue and Customs. This means that there is ample space for entertaining guests should you choose to include a special talk or tour from one of our curators as part of your event.
