The National White Water Centre is based on the River Tryweryn in the heart of Snowdonia. As a centre of excellence for paddlesport, we are known as the home of white water rafting and kayaking. Although the Tryweryn is a truly wild mountain river, water levels are dam-controlled so it’s rapids still thunder in the summer. Unlike any other UK venue, on the Tryweryn you can enjoy the best of both worlds with fantastic water conditions in a beautiful, natural environment.
White Water Activities: The centre offers a whole range of fantastic white water activities, ranging from fun family trips along the lower river to fast flowing group and individual sessions on the upper river. If you want to get even closer to the action, the challenging Orca and Tandem Kayak sessions will see you drive through fierce rapids on the grade 3/4 world championship course. Or test your skills outside of the boat, in the ever-popular Canyoning trips as you climb, scramble, slide and swim your way through the gorge, in the most magnificent setting.
