Skydive Academy is based at Peterlee Parachute Centre, Shotton Airfield about 8 miles East of Durham City and 2 miles West of Peterlee, running Parachuting and Skydiving Courses for beginners including Tandem Skydive, Solo Static Line and Accelerated Free Fall Courses.

We have our own Airfield site with a tarmac runway, a large car park, indoor training facilities, class rooms, lecture rooms, canteen, licensed bar, bunk rooms, toilet and shower facilities. We operate 2 parachuting aircraft, a 16 place turbine Cessna Grand Caravan and a 4 place Cessna 182.

Our regular operating hours are weekends from the 3rd weekend of January to the 3rd weekend of December, and during British Summer Time Wednesdays, Fridays and Bank Holiday Mondays (but not the Wednesday immediately following a Bank Holiday Monday).

Tandem Courses can be run on any scheduled opening day, but we will consider any day for a group booking. We tend to run the Solo SL Parachute Course on the 1st Saturday of the month February through December, and Accelerated Free Fall Courses are individually booked through our AFF School.
