Starting at Fort William, follow the historic pony track up onto the plateau, aiming to reach the old summit observatory perched on the edge of the huge North face. Expect to deal with all sorts of conditions - it can snow on Ben Nevis for 365 days of the year, however, if the skies are clear, half of Scotland is visible from the summit. Your guide will keep the pace sensible but more experienced walkers have the option of scrambling up and along the narrow ridge of Carn Mor Dearg onto the summit. This challenging day finishes with a warming hot chocolate
