Set in the heart of the Cheshire countryside, Clonter captures the drama and glamour of a night at the theatre - combining performances with either a 70 minute supper/picnic interval, or a 30 minute interval with a pre-performance supper/picnic. This delightfully intimate venue contains a 400 seat audiitorium , complete with orchestra pit, and indoor picnic and formal dining facilities. Audience members are however still very welcome to picnic outside, enjoying this idyllic rural setting, in the Spring surrounded by daffodils and a carpet of bluebells, and in summer, you can sit amongst the roses, looking across the Cheshire plain up towards the Derbyshire hills, within audible distance of the Clonter brook,.Clonter is in fact an Anglo-Saxon word, meaning 'The sound that water makes, as it travels over water'.

There is a fully licensed bar. Chilled pre-performance and interval drinks can be pre-ordered . Supper, hampers or canape baskets can be pre-ordered, or you can bring your own picnic.

Clonter has FREE parking for over 200 cars, adjacent to the theatre. Audience members are also welcome to leave their car overnight. It should be noted that when there is heavy rainfall that appropriate footwear, or change of, should be considered, due to the rural location.
