There are more than eight ghosts in The Old Rectory, and guests sometimes sense them. Learn their stories of love, lust, frustration and what a ghost thinks is the latest fashion – plus the mysteries of the cellar - on a unique candle-lit ghost walk. All walks are for private groups of friends, colleagues, clubs or family, pre-booked at times and dates to suit you. We take groups of up to 18 people, but most groups are smaller. There is a nice box of chocolates for the group organizer as a thank you.

There are two kinds of walk. You can have just Jane Furnival, the psychic house owner, or you can have a walk with a professional medium. Or TWO mediums if you want.

1. A ghost walk with Jane. £150 per group of up to 18 people, including vat and tea, coffee, and soft drinks. So, for example, if you have ten people in your group, they pay £15 each; 15 people pay £10; 18 people pay £8.34.

What do you get? The house is candle-lit. We'll meet in the Sitting Room by the log fire, discuss the house's history and try out the electronic ghost-hunting equipment as seen on TV, and then we'll walk over the most exciting parts of the house.

Jane is psychic and tuned into our ghosts and spirits - she hears them more frequently than anyone else, as they know her, and occasionally sees them – and she is full of first-hand stories. But she is not a professional medium and can't do personal sittings.

This walk is suitable for those with a general interest in ghosts and history, or those who are already developing their own psychic skills, and want some practice. If you want, you can round off the evening by viewing a short ghost-hunt film made here by a professional group, with orbs clearly shown in a variety of rooms.

2. A ghost walk with a professional medium. £220 per group of up to 18 people, including vat, tea, coffee and soft drinks. So, for example, if you have ten people in your group, the cost is £22 each; 15 people will pay £14.67; or 18 people will pay £12.22.

This can be exciting and atmospheric. The house will be candle-lit and the log fire roaring. You get to use the electronic ghost-hunting equipment as seen on TV. The medium will tell you who is active, there and then, and what they are saying or doing. You can round off the evening by viewing the ghost hunt film with orbs in the Sitting Room while discussing your experiences.

Book add-on personal readings at £25 each or ask for these on the night. People are generally very happy with these readings, which last around 20 minutes and can bring you great reassurance about loved ones you have lost, career, family, health, happiness money and future possibilities. It is possible for two people to share a reading, depending on the medium’s agreement.

3. You can also have a ghost walk with two professional mediums. £320 including vat and all the extras specified above.
