Wadhurst, East Sussex, TN5 6QX
Welcome to the home of Bluecaps Llamas in East Sussex, situated in Cousley Wood near Wadhurst.
We offer a range of llama trekking options in the lovely East Sussex countryside, plus we sell our luxurious designer alpaca knitwear, as well as a range of llama and alpaca halters, grooming tools and accessories.
We are surrounded by the beautiful countryside of the High Weald and, of course, we are neighbours of the extremely picturesque Bewl Water.
We are very pleased to announce that we have recently bought the fabulous herd of ‘Maplehurst Llamas’ from Pam Walker, who is giving up llama breeding due to her ill-health. We now have an additional 27 llamas that carry some of the oldest lines in this country.
Llama Trekking
Llama treks are suitable for a whole range of occasions - birthday parties, hen parties, school holiday outings, corporate entertainment, anniversaries and even Easter egg hunts. If you think you would like to meet a llama or alpaca, we are offering ‘llama treks' in the beautiful countryside on the East Sussex and Kent borders. These can range from a leisurely 40 minute stroll to an energetic three hour trek!
Picnic Walks
We also offer ‘llama picnic walks’, which are suitable for a whole range of occasions such as birthday or anniversary celebrations, even hen parties! They are also available during school holidays, which would be very suitable for older children. A picnic walk involves a walk of approximately 1 hour and the trekkers can bring their own picnic, which they can enjoy back on the farm (undercover if weather inclement). During the Easter holiday we can organise llama walks which incorporate an Easter egg hunt.
Corporate Entertainment
This year brings the advent of something totally different for corporate entertainment and/or fun days.
On our second farm of some 120 acres, we have set up a llama orienteering course. Each team (of 3/4 people) has to lead their own llama around with them. This is a great team-building exercise as not only do participants face the challenge of map-reading to find their way around the course, but also the completion of various tasks, quizzes and games en route. An extra dimension is that participants have to utilise skills such as leadership, communication and patience to guide their llama companion around the course!
Course lengths are varied, so we can provide a full day or half day's activity to suit your needs. Llama orienteering is also an excellent activity for secondary school groups or youth groups, such as Guides, Scouts and Rangers.
