The grandeur of Highclere Castle is the ideal setting to enjoy an evening of Battle Proms classical music. Before the music, Napoleonic Cavalry and Infantry displays, then a vintage field gun gives a volley of shots to begin the show, followed by a Spitfire display from Carolyn Grace in her LF Mark IX Spitfire that accompanies the opening piece. The New English Concert Orchestra led by Douglas Coombes perform a selection of inspiring classical pieces including Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture with live cannon fire and Beethoven's Battle Symphony (complete with 193 live cannons and muskets). The evening ends with performances of Jerusalem and Rule Britannia led by soprano Denise Leigh, flag waving and a spectacular firework display
