The beautiful grounds of Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire is a great setting for the inspiring atmosphere created by an evening of outdoor Battle Proms classical music extravaganza. The evening begins before the first note is played, with Napoleonic Cavalry and Infantry displays. Then, a vintage field gun begins proceedings with a volley of shots, followed by an LF Mark IX Spitfire display by Carolyn Grace to accompany the opening piece. Classical pieces such as Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture with live cannon and Beethoven's Battle Symphony with live cannons and muskets are performed by The New English Concert Orchestra. The evening ends with rousing performances of Rule Britannia and Jerusalem, followed by colourful fireworks
