Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, CB2 3AR
The Regal cinema opened in 1937. In 1972 it was redeveloped as a two screen ABC cinema and operated as such until it closed in 1997.
The site of the Regal was taken on by Wetherspoons and re-opened in 1999 with England's largest pub taking over the ground floor and the three-screen Arts Picturehouse taking over the remaining space. The opening of the Arts Picturehouse co-incided with the closure of the Arts Cinema in Market Passage which had to close when the Arts Theatre sold the property to cover losses being made at the theatre.

School Screening & Events
We believe that film and cinema have an increasingly important role to play within the National Curriculum, aiding pupils’ learning and development throughout their formal education.
Our education team work closely with teachers and Local Education Authorities to deliver a year-round, diverse programme of screenings, talks and workshops, all carefully designed to complement the National Curriculum at different levels and develop young people’s cine-literacy skills.
