Starting from St. Nicolas Church car park, we’ll follow the Greensand Way, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Our route will take us through the historic Deer Park at Boughton Monchelsea Place, where we’ll keep an eye out for herds of fallow deer roaming the grounds. From there, we’ll continue towards Chart Hill and Sutton Valence before returning to Linton. We’ll also pass by the delightful Buttercups Sanctuary for Goats, a rescue sanctuary dedicated to caring for and rehoming goats in need.
Interesting Facts About Linton and the Greensand Way St. Nicolas Church, Linton – Dating back to the 13th century, this beautiful church is a Grade I listed building with stunning stained glass windows and historic features. Greensand Way – This long-distance footpath stretches 108 miles across Kent and Surrey, following the Greensand Ridge, a natural sandstone formation that offers breathtaking views of the Weald of Kent. Boughton Monchelsea Place – A historic manor house dating from the 16th century, surrounded by parkland that’s home to fallow deer. The deer park was originally created for hunting and still provides a glimpse into the area's aristocratic past. Linton Park – Once part of a grand estate, Linton Park boasts rolling landscapes and sweeping views of the Weald of Kent, providing some of the most iconic scenery in the area.

Friendly dogs are welcome! Please ensure they're leashed when needed, especially around fields with livestock. Owners are always fully responsible for their dogs.
Before hitting the trail, make sure to pack:
- Suitable footwear (preferably walking boots or sturdy shoes, no flip-flops)
- A waterproof coat (and waterproof trousers, if you have them) for rainy days
- Drinking water and a packed lunch
- Personal medication (Let us know confidentially about any medical conditions)
- Suitable walking attire
