Christmas Experience at Bovey Castle

Christmas Eve
Arrive at Bovey Castle for a host of festive activities including a visit to our Long Barn for cider and sloe gin making, then join us for afternoon tea with carols from our local choir. Your first evening includes a drinks reception and five-course dinner, accompanied by our house pianist.

Awake on Christmas Day to a traditional breakfast followed by a visit from Father Christmas with gifts for our younger guests. Then why not enjoy the fresh air and beautiful scenery on the estate with our brass rubbing trail. The revelry begins with a drinks reception followed by a fabulous Christmas Day lunch in the Great Western accompanied by a harpist. Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without the King’s speech which will be shown in our lounges with coffee and mince pies. An informal buffet supper will be served in the evening then take the opportunity to retire to the Oak Bar for a Cognac or two.

Boxing Day
Following breakfast, sign up for the golf tournament, join us for a guided walk or take part in our treasure hunt around the Castle and grounds. In the afternoon our much-loved ferret racing isa firm favourite, as is our ‘nearest the pin’ golf competition on the South Terrace, served with hot chocolate or mulled wine. Family activities are available to enjoy all day. A savoury and sweet afternoon tea will be served in our lounges throughout the afternoon with entertainment. Enjoy the finale of the day with a cocktail reception and five-course dinner in the Great Western(dress code – cocktail wear) followed by a live band and dancing.

27th December
Enjoy a full English breakfast before bidding a fond farewell and journeying home.

All prices are per room for 3 nights, based on 2 adults sharing. Single rooms £2,280. Please enquire regarding the option of double rooms for single occupancy.

Children’s prices for 3 nights - up to 4 years £240, 5–14 years sharing adults’ room £1,020 (based on a Castle room and upwards), in own interconnecting Classic Room £1,770 and 2 sharing a Classic Room £2,640.

For all packages a 25% non-refundable deposit is taken at the time of booking, final payment due 1st November. The package is non-refundable on cancellation. Extend the festivities and stay with us for additional nights either before or after the package at discounted rates.
